The DMHS Softball program fields Varsity and JV teams in the 5A Conference and plays in the "East Sky" region.
In 2025, this talented group went 30-1-1 and won a thrilling state championship game at ASU's Farrington Stadium against the Canyon del Oro Dorados by a score of 4-0. DM went 9-0 in the East Sky region and finished the season on a 27-game winning streak! This was the 3rd straight 5A State Championship for Desert Mountain softball and we are very excited for the 2026 season.
In 2026, the team will play a competitive schedule which includes 28 regular season games across:
- the Lion Country Classic, hosted by Red Mountain, starts in late February with 5 games in Mesa against 6A conference programs Shadow Ridge, Pinnacle, Highland, Basha and Desert Ridge
- the "I Love this Game" Tournament, hosted by Willow Canyon, the week prior to Spring Break with 4 games in Surprise against Willow Canyon, Boulder Creek, Canyon View and Cactus Shadows
- 6 non-region games against Alhambra (away), Verrado (away), Saguaro (home), O'Connor (home), Willow Canyon (away) and Sunrise Mountain (home)
- 12 East Sky region games with home and away matchups against Chaparral, Horizon, Notre Dame Prep, Campo, Mountain Pointe and ACP.
